"Claude was very aggressive tonight," Knoxville manager Herman Ackerman said. "He threw everything he had with a lot of confidence."
Through 9 innings, Davis tallied 5 strikeouts and allowed 1 walk.
"He was throwing strikes with all his pitches and mixing it up well," losing manager Gene Parkhurst said. "Davis has a sneaky fastball, and whatever that off-speed pitch was, it was keeping our timing off."
