| Cleveland Wins Continental Association Crown Monday, October 9th , 1961 Grown men turned into little boys, some even breaking into tears, in the Cleveland Foresters clubhouse, after the team clinched the Continental Association.
"We can relax a bit, for now anyway," said manager Jim Whitehead. "I'm proud of every guy in the room for what we've done this season."
The club has a 88-66 record as they head towards the playoffs in search of their 5th World Championship Series championship. Shortstop John Low said the team is happy to clinch what is the club's 13th division title, but "wouldn't be happy until we're lifting that trophy." | | |
