 | Cullen Reaches 2000 Tuesday, July 30th , 1974 Wolves left fielder Sid Cullen never thought his name would be associated with some of the great players in league history. Now that he has reached the 2000-hit threshold, that's all but guaranteed. Cullen collected his big hit in a 6-1 loss to Montreal. Afterward, he thought about the achievement: "Overwhelmed," he said. "That's how I feel about it right now." Cullen went 1-for-1 for the game. In his career, Cullen has played in 1903 games with a .286 batting average.
