| McMillan 5-for-5 Against Kings Saturday, September 28th , 1963 Chicago Cougars center fielder Jerry McMillan banged out 5 hits, but it was not enough to keep his club from succumbing to the Kansas City Kings, 5-4. He went 5-for-5 and raised his batting average a few points.
"If the hits keep coming," an upbeat McMillan said after the game, "the runs will too. And, more importantly, so will the wins."
Jerry McMillan singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Stan Reinert in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far this season in 157 games, McMillan is batting .273 with 21 home runs, 77 RBIs and 109 runs scored. He has 186 hits in 681 at-bats.
