"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Mack said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, St. Louis skipper Lou Ormsby said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."
"Frenchy pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.
Mack has made 31 starts, tossed 243.1 innings, struck out 211 batters and walked 73. His record is 20-6 with a 2.07 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .215 batting average.
