| Davis Deals Gothams 8-0 Shutout Sunday, September 8th , 1963 The New York Gothams ran into a buzzsaw at Broad Street Park II, as Philadelphia Keystones starter William Davis cut them down to size, 8-0, tossing a 5-hit shutout.
"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," Keystones manager Don Fox told reporters after the game. "William knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."
