| Brandt Deals Minutemen 8-0 Shutout Tuesday, September 3rd , 1963 The Boston Minutemen ran into a buzzsaw at Whitney Park, as Chicago Chiefs starter Roy Brandt cut them down to size, 8-0, tossing a 9-hit shutout.
"That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," Chiefs manager Dutch Becker told reporters after the game. "Roy knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."
In the complete game win, the Chicago hurler doled out 1 walk and registered 11 strikeouts.
This season, Brandt has a 9-3 record with a 3.34 ERA in 19 starts.
