| Millers Use Late Rally to Win | The Minneapolis Millers beat the St. Louis Pioneers, 8-3, at Hennepin County Stadium. The Millers got a fine performance from shortstop Bucky Raymond, who went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Minneapolis reliever Ben Baird picked up the win, upping his record to 15-13. Curly Anderson was saddled with the loss. Minneapolis now sports a record of 65-76.
Julio Castaneda drew 1 walk against the Pioneers. With the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that put Minneapolis in front, 4-3.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Raymond.
