Hendricks Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits
Sunday, September 21st , 1975
A jubilant Jim Hendricks joined the postgame press conference at Lakefront Park to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Milwaukee Arrows pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Montreal Saints right fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-6 hitting performance, which led to the 17-9 Saints win.

"He made it look easy," said Randy Hendrix, manager of the Arrows. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Jim Hendricks hit an RBI single in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run double in the 8th.

Hendricks is batting .308 this year with 10 home runs, 90 RBIs and 77 runs scored. He has 164 hits in 533 at-bats.
