The extraordinarily popular Hunt got a standing ovation from the hometown crowd as he left the field, the applause continuing until he returned from the dugout to tip his cap to the crowd.
"Comets fans are the best fans, in my opinion," he said. "It's a great feeling to throw a shutout under any circumstances, but to do it with the crowd behind you like that is just incredible."
Looking at his season stats, Hunt has won 12 and lost 10, collecting 139 strikeouts and 78 walks in 222.2 innings with a 2.43 ERA.
