| Saints Handle Foresters, Nab 3-1 Win | In a tight contest between the Montreal Saints and the Cleveland Foresters, John Roberts was the determining factor. The Montreal right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-1 win. Roberts, now 8-16, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Montreal now sports a record of 76-78.
Montreal used the stroke of Dick Baker to get the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Saints ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Baker.
