Chicago Bats Silenced by Boynton
Wednesday, September 17th , 1975
In an outstanding mound performance, Seattle Kings starter John Boynton fired a complete-game shutout against the Chicago Cougars at Seattle Municipal Stadium.

Boynton was the key to the 5-0 Seattle win. The 25-year-old right-hander was in high spirits for much of the game, his mood largely unfazed by the 3 hits and no walks he allowed.

"3 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter, as long as it was a shutout."
