The Los Angeles Suns topped the Chicago Chiefs, 4-3, in Federal Association action at Wilshire Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Los Angeles pitcher Jim Place. Picking up the save was Ron Clark, his 21st. Los Angeles is in first place in the Federal Association West with a record of 86-67.

Tom Lally chipped in for Los Angeles, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the bottom of the seventh inning. For the game, the shortstop was 1-2 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
