 | 5-Hit Barrage by Newton Thursday, September 11th , 1975 Today at Minuteman Stadium, the Boston Minutemen topped the Atlanta Copperheads in spite of a standout batting performance by shortstop John Newton. Newton had a very impressive day at the plate, spanking Boston pitching for 5 base hits, but couldn't do enough for a win. Boston whipped Atlanta by the score of 6-5. John Newton singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, grounded out in the 11th, flied out in the 13th and singled in the 16th.
