| Cougars Roll to 8-2 Win Over Cannons | The Chicago Cougars picked up a win at Cougars Park, topping the Cincinnati Cannons, 8-2. On the mound for Chicago was left-hander Andy Logue. He played a principal role in the triumph. Logue got the win, improving to 10-15. He gave up 7 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. The 5th-place Cougars have won 4 in a row.
The Cannons had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Cougars going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the fan favorite Gene Case came to the plate. Case hit a run-scoring double on a 2-1 sinker from Cincinnati hurler Jimmy Block. It was Case's 24th double of the year.
"Nice to keep our winning streak intact," said Case.
