"Pedro was just locating so well and using his pitches," Detroit manager Roger Cleaves said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Castro recorded 4 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Atlanta manager Don Fox said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
Checking out his stats for the season, Castro has notched 11 wins and 9 losses in 19 starts. His ERA is 3.38 and he's struck out 80 batters in 168 innings.
