 | Bell Reaches 2000 Sunday, June 29th , 1975 Cannons second baseman Bob Bell never thought his name would be associated with some of the great players in league history. Now that he has reached the 2000-hit threshold, that's all but guaranteed. Bell collected his big hit in a 2-1 loss to New York. Afterward, he thought about the achievement: "Overwhelmed," he said.
