| 2500th Hit for Kingsbury Thursday, June 12th , 1975 It was a day of mixed emotions for San Francisco left fielder John Kingsbury, who collected his 2500th hit in the club's 8-6 loss to Cleveland. Sailors and Foresters fans alike cheered Kingsbury as he reached base after his milestone hit.
"I wish the score had been different," Kingsbury said after the game, "but it was a great moment. The standing ovation was really special... even the fans wearing Foresters caps were cheering me."
Kingsbury was 1-for-4 on the day.
Kingsbury has a lifetime .282 average and .342 on-base percentage in his career with 2500 hits, 410 doubles, 136 triples, 192 home runs, 1180 RBIs and 1295 runs scored.
