Dynamos Deal Chiefs 9-6 Loss
Led by Ray Waggoner, the Detroit Dynamos defeated the Chicago Chiefs, 9-6, in 10 innings. Waggoner was 4-6 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Dynamos. Detroit reliever Earl Shields picked up the win, upping his record to 5-6. Al Mielcarek was saddled with the loss. The win gives Detroit a season record of 50-32.

Detroit used the timely hitting of Danny Taylor to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Dynamos on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Like I've always said, I'm the straw that stirs the drink," Taylor said (again).
