| Ensey Shines in 5-3 Detroit Win | Behind a fine performance from Buddy Ensey, the Detroit Dynamos knocked off the St. Louis Pioneers, 5-3. Ensey went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Dynamos. The winning pitcher was Joe Jones. He tossed 114 pitches over 7.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 3 hits. Bud Dixon earned the save for Detroit, his 1st.
With Detroit trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Ensey hit a slider from Harry Anderson for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Dynamos ahead, 4-2.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Ensey.
St. Louis now has a record of 2-7.
