| Church Shines in 7-1 New York Win | New York first baseman Paul Church made his presence felt in the 7-1 Gothams triumph over the Philadelphia Keystones. Church went 3 for 3 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Harry Hayward picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed no runs on 3 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 2. On the season, he is now 13-6. New York, now 87-64, holds down second place in the Federal Association East.
Church had a key at-bat for New York in the top of the first. With runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and gave New York an early 3-0 lead.
