Cincinnati Cannons starter Jimmy Block hurled his team past the Montreal Saints, 3-1. The win for the Cannons raised their record to 76-73.

Art McKinney had a big run-scoring double for the Cannons in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Cincinnati leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Gene Faulkenberry, who is tied for 6th in the CA in quality starts with 19, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 19th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cannons ahead, 3-1.

"I had my mind made up to go the distance," said Block.
