| Kings Win Thriller, 3-2 | In a low-scoring clash between Kansas City and Montreal, pitcher Roy Curtis was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned praise for his performance in the 3-2 Kings win. Kansas City pitcher Jack Halbur earned the win, hiking his record to 2-5. Cliff Willis suffered the loss. Montreal now owns a losing streak of 5 games.
Batting in the bottom of the tenth, two-time Whitney Award winner Hank Williams had a real shot to win the game. Montreal pitcher Cliff Willis was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Williams hit a run-scoring single. The Kings had a walk-off triumph.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Curtis.
