| Foresters Handle Montreal, Snag 6-2 Win | Cleveland turned a good performance from starting pitcher Dick Couture into a 6-2 triumph over the Montreal Saints at Forester Stadium. Cleveland raised its record to 74-71 with the win.
Cleveland right fielder John Piper contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a slider to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 155th hit of the season and put the Foresters ahead, 3-0.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Couture. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
