Fred Davis did a number on the Clippers in the 8-3 New York victory -- and the number was 5. The Gothams right fielder banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Patapsco Field to lead his club past the Baltimore Clippers.

"I felt good in the batter's box," he said. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done."

Fred Davis singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
