The Cleveland Foresters dealt the Montreal Saints a 5-3 loss at Forester Stadium. Dale Mosley was the star on offense. He went 2 for 3 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Ed Squires earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 5-1.
Brooklyn, New York-born Herb Reed came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the seventh, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Foresters trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to left to put Cleveland on top.
Reed called the win "a pick-me-upper."
