The New York Gothams defeated the Baltimore Clippers, 5-3, in 10 innings. Much of the credit belonged to left fielder Barney Knox, who was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Gothams. The setback makes Baltimore 66-79.

Had Knox not come through in the top of the tenth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Knox hit a 2-run single. The Gothams took the lead, 5-3, and never looked back.

In postgame comments, Knox said, "I think we gave the fans their money's worth."
