Boston Minutemen starter Johnny Hall pitched a strong game against the New York Gothams at Minuteman Stadium, leading the Minutemen to victory, 5-2. Ed Phipps sewed up the save, his 1st.
Boston shortstop Dale Raz helped the Minutemen go up, 3-2, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Raz hit a run-scoring single off New York pitcher Harry Hayward.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Hall told the Boston Bulletin.
