Dynamos Prevail, 5-3, Over New York | The Detroit Dynamos spoiled a good performance by New York shortstop Isaiah Redbird, bumping off New York, 5-3, at Thompson Field. Redbird went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Detroit pitcher Paul Anderson got the win, upping his record to 13-11. Chris Sargent got the loss. Detroit, at 89-53, occupies second place in the Federal Association.
In the bottom of the sixth, Detroit third baseman Virgil Ewing had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Ewing stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 4-2, Detroit. For the game, he went 2-4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
