The Cincinnati Cannons picked up a win at Stade Montreal, courtesy of Ike Hawley. The right-hander helped his team stop the Montreal Saints, 3-2. The Cannons improved their record to 64-78 by beating Montreal.

Pete Bruce, who finished 3rd in the CA in on-base percentage with .395 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Bruce contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Cincinnati up, 3-2.

"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Hawley told the Cincinnati Bulletin.
