| Philadelphia Gets 3-2 Win Versus Boston in 11 | The Boston Minutemen could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Bill Kelly into a win. Instead, the Philadelphia Keystones prevailed, 3-2, in 11 innings. Kelly threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. Today's win puts Philadelphia at 64-75, while Boston falls to 49-88.
Batting in the bottom of the 11th, 33-year old left fielder Pete Morris had a real shot to win the game. Boston pitcher Richie Thornton was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Morris hit a run-scoring single. The Keystones had a walk-off triumph.
"Exhilarating win," said Morris. | |
