| Imperials Slap 5-4 Loss on Foresters | The New York Imperials topped the Cleveland Foresters, 5-4, in Continental Association action at Forester Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of New York pitcher Milt Lane. The winner was Lane. He threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Tommy Miller. Glenn Webb, credited with the save, is now 6 for 7 in save opportunities.
In the top of the ninth, New York right fielder Jack Woods had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Woods stroked a run-scoring single to left-center. It made the score 5-2, New York. For the game, he was 4 for 5 with 4 singles.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Cleveland manager Jim Whitehead. "The effort was great."
