| Pioneers Secure 6-5 Win | Los Angeles got a terrific game from shortstop Tom Lally. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to St. Louis, 6-5. Lally was 4-4 with 4 singles. The winning pitcher was Red Kline. He tossed 105 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits. With the victory, the Pioneers record stands at 68-68.
Jim Robinson helped out the St. Louis cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the catcher was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Robinson, "one at-bat at a time."
