Seattle first baseman Hank Williams helped his team beat the Montreal Saints, 9-4. Williams, who finished 2nd in the CA in runs with 117 in 1958, went 1 for 3 for the Kings. The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Sam Barnes came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Montreal pitcher Miguel Hernandez, he hit a 0-2 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Seattle on top, 5-4.

"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Williams told a local reporter after the game.
