The New York Gothams beat the Chicago Chiefs, 8-3. New York pitcher and Jackson, Tennessee, native Bunny Mullins led the way. New York now sports a record of 64-70.

New York second baseman Dutch Eckelberry contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a slider to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 71st hit of the season and put the Gothams ahead, 2-0.

"Bunny was Bunny," said Gothams manager Charlie Foley. "We know what we'll get whenever he takes the mound."
