Arrows Fall to Cougars Late
The Chicago Cougars handed the Milwaukee Arrows a loss at Lakefront Park. The final score was 6-5 in 18 innings. Gene Homer was one of the major contributors for Chicago. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 1 run and drove in 2. Chicago pitcher Les Sechrest got the win. He's now 1-0. Norm Sutherland was tagged with the loss. At 59-77, the Cougars find themselves in 5th place in the Continental Association West.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Mel Hodges to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 18th inning to put the Cougars on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Chicago manager Pug Bryan had little to say after the game except that his team was "spent."
