| Kings Lose as Imperials Stage Late Rally | New York pitcher Jim White had a large part in his team beating the Seattle Kings, 4-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. White picked up the win for New York, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 14-9. Mike Dunlavy nailed down his 1st save.
New York used a clutch hit from Bill Wood to get the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Imperials ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said White.
The Imperials improved their record to 63-66 with the win over Seattle. | |
