| Drooping Imperials Lose 7th Straight | The Toronto Wolves picked up a win at Dyckman Stadium, topping the New York Imperials, 4-1. On the mound for Toronto was right-hander Lee Loeffler. He played a principal role in the triumph. Loeffler, the winner, moves to 7-6. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. The 7th-place Wolves have won 4 in a row.
Tom Reed came through with a big-time hit for Toronto. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We've got to get out of this funk," said New York manager Ed Ziehl.
