| Vesutan Absorbs 4-3 Loss to Osaka | Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Osaka Sailors and Vesutan Bees.
The Vesutan Bees got a superb performance from pitcher Niou Nagao, but the Osaka Sailors still won the game, 4-3. Nagao threw 9.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The winning pitcher was Marty Carroll. He tossed 96 pitches over 7.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits.
Osaka used the hitting of Kojiro Urushihara to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Sailors on top, 4-2. For the game, Urushihara had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Not to put too fine a point on it," said Urushihara, "but we really needed that win."
The last-place Sailors go to 39-96.
