| Osaka Dealt 6-4 Defeat | The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
The Nagasaki Stars picked up a win at Nagasaki Prefecture Stadium, knocking off the Osaka Sailors, 6-4. On the mound for Nagasaki was right-hander Tatsuo Sato. He played a key role in the triumph. The winner was Sato. He threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Yukiharu Goto. Roku Yamakawa earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.
In the bottom of the fifth inning, the Stars grabbed the lead when Shuuhei Yamashita rapped a two-out single. Nagasaki was trailing 3-2, when Yamashita hit a 2-run single off Yukiharu Goto to put his team in front, 4-3.
Sato said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
The second-place Stars improved to 69-51.
