| Sailors Get Past Nagasaki for 5-4 Win | It was pandemonium at Kotei Stadium after an exciting walk-off win.
Osaka Sailors starter Takahiko Kurata found his groove in his team's 5-4 win over the Nagasaki Stars. The Sailors saw their record improve to 37-92.
Ryuji Tamura played the role of hero for Osaka. In the bottom of the ninth, he launched a 2-run home run off Tetsushi Kondo to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.
"Takahiko did a heck of a job," said Osaka manager Bill Sherrill. | |
