| Kobe Sent Home with 3-1 Loss | Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Nagasaki Stars and the Kobe Bulls. Nagasaki won it, 3-1. Nagasaki starter Akimasa Murakami was in command. The loss makes Kobe 75-50.
Nagasaki used the clutch hitting of Ikku Kawase to snag the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stars ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Akimasa's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Okura Ichimura, the Stars manager.
