Stars Rally For Late Win Over Bees
Nagasaki and Vesutan took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.

The Nagasaki Stars beat the Vesutan Bees, 7-4, at Nagasaki Prefecture Stadium. Shou Okuda, who finished 3rd in the WL in triples with 10 in 1958, starred for Nagasaki. He went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Kiyohiro Okazaki, now 2-4, was credited with the win in 2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 1. Masato Yamamoto earned the save, his 16th, for the Stars.

Nagasaki took the lead, 7-4, on Kenji Okazaki's 3rd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Vesutan pitcher Haruki Ogawa in the bottom of the eighth.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Okuda told the Nagasaki Citizen.

Nagasaki has won 3 straight, while Vesutan has lost 5 in a row.
