The Fukuoka Falcons picked up a win at Fukuoka Stadium, taking down the Osaka Sailors, 6-3. Starting pitcher Rei Matsumura was a big reason why. With the win over Osaka, the Falcons improved to 75-48.

Shoshichi Hanzawa, who finished 5th in the WL in doubles with 21 last year, contributed to the Fukuoka win with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.

"Rei pitched like a champ," said Fukuoka manager Kamlyn Kadota.
