| Dominant Performance by Fujiwara in Fukuoka Win | Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Fukuoka Falcons and Nagasaki Stars.
Pitcher Tsuneteru Fujiwara was sensational for the Fukuoka Falcons in his team's 3-1 triumph over the Nagasaki Stars. Fujiwara earned the win. The win for the Falcons raised their record to 71-52.
Fujiwara's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 7 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 1 hit. Fujiwara, who finished 5th in the WL in ERA with 3.05 in 1971, goes to 14-12 on the year with 116 strikeouts.
"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Fujiwara.
