| Kites Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Bulls | Not everyone stuck through the 42-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
The Kinboshi Kites picked up a win at Konohana Stadium, dropping the Kobe Bulls, 8-4. Ryusuke Maeda, who led the WL in wins with 17 in 1960, was the difference-maker. Kinboshi raised its record to 51-51 with the win.
Kitahachi Masuda had a big 2-run double for the Kites in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Kinboshi leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Kiyomitsu Wada, who finished 5th in the WL in saves with 10 in 1958, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Kites ahead, 4-1.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Kaita Kurosawa said.
