| Stars Lose, 6-4, as Falcons Rally | The Fukuoka Falcons took Nagasaki pitcher Akimasa Murakami's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Nagasaki Prefecture Stadium. The final score had Fukuoka getting past the Stars, 6-4. Murakami went 7 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 5. The triumph puts Fukuoka at 57-55 for the season.
Fukuoka used the timely hitting of Akihito Otani to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Falcons on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Otani told the Fukuoka News.
