| Bulls Snatch Late-Game, 3-2 Win | Kinboshi wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Keiji Tamura, falling to the Kobe Bulls, 3-2. Tamura threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The win was credited to Senichi Soga in relief. His record improves to 2-1. Toyoji Tsuda took the loss. Tenshou Hirata closed the game out for Kobe, earning his 1st save.
Kobe needed the clutch hitting of Tadahisa Ryu to seal the deal. The center fielder swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bulls on top, 3-1. For the game, Ryu had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Kinboshi manager Frank Moore. "But we decided not to take it."
Kinboshi's current losing streak has reached 5 games.
