| Sailors Bridle Bulls, 3-1 | Kotei Stadium was the site of a competitive game between the Kobe Bulls and Osaka Sailors.
The Osaka Sailors scooped up a win at Kotei Stadium, dumping the Kobe Bulls, 3-1. Takahiko Kurata, who led the WL in strikeouts with 99 in 1954, was essential to his team's success. Choei Teramoto was credited with the save for Osaka, his 8th of the season.
Toshimichi Ishii had a key at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Osaka. With the bases loaded and the Sailors leading 2-1, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"Takahiko gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Osaka skipper Heikichi Kawasaki.
The win puts Osaka at 40-65.
