| Sugiura Stars for Falcons in 6-5 Win | Though the conditions were not ideal, the Fukuoka Falcons and Vesutan Bees came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Fukuoka Falcons knocked off the Vesutan Bees, 6-5, at Vesutan Stadium. Ayato Sugiura was a big reason Fukuoka won. The left fielder went 3-3 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Fukuoka now sits at 70-47, while Vesutan falls to 58-60.
Fukuoka used the timely hitting of Yasuhiko Kawasaki to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Falcons on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Sugiura.
