| Osaka Tacks 7-2 Loss on Nagasaki | The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.
The Osaka Sailors got a strong performance from pitcher Genpaku Matsumoto, who stymied the Nagasaki offense en route to a win, 7-2, at Kotei Stadium. The Sailors sport a record of 43-75.
Masahiko Yamamoto, who is tied for 9th in the WL in stolen bases with 20, helped out the Osaka cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the center fielder drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Sailors manager Bill Sherrill. "This one was nice to get."
