1975 is shaping up to be a forgettable year for the Osaka Sailors.

Kinboshi defeated Osaka, 8-4, in large part due to eight-time All-Star Hideyuki Kitamura. Kitamura drove in 3 runs. The second baseman had 1 double and 2 home runs for the Kites. Keiji Tamura got credit for the win, improving to 13-6. He allowed 4 runs on 10 hits in 8.2 innings.

Korenaga Kurosawa, who is a four-time All-Star, chipped in a 2-run home run for Kinboshi in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"It was our day today," Kurosawa told the Kinboshi Times. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."

The 5th-place Kites hiked their record to 51-59.
