| Sailors 6-2 Winners Versus Vesutan | Thanks in large part to right fielder Ayumu Kaneshiro, the Osaka Sailors beat the Vesutan Bees, 6-2. Kaneshiro went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Natsuhiko Sugiura got the win, improving to 11-8. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 3. The win makes Osaka 49-49.
In the top of the first, Kaneshiro pounced on a 1-1 fastball from Tatsuki Goto and hit a 3-run home run. It put Osaka on top, 3-0.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Kaneshiro told the Osaka News.
